The Inciser
Machine Construction
In essence, the Inciser machine concept is a robotic orientation device that is able to maneuver tools be they plasma, oxy propane, welder, laser etc at an angle, around and along almost any material section.
The Inciser uses advanced controls that are equivalent to the latest robotic and CNC technologies, however, with added functionality that facilitates the rapid processing of structural sections (e.g. pipe, flat, angle, channel, RHS & I-beams). In addition to these sections, the Inciser is also able to process roll-formed sections, pre-fabricated sections (e.g. T's), tapered octagons (i.e. light poles), almost anything that can fit through the Inciser body.
Cutting, welding and marking torches can be fitted simultaneously permitting cutting operations followed by welding e.g. fabrication of pipe spools.
The construction of the Inciser's main horizontal or rotational axis uses a heavy-duty slew-ring bearing to circumnavigate the material section through 450 degrees. The bearing over capacity ensures maximum accuracy and longevity. Attached to this bearing may be any number of tools and associated tool manipulator mechanisms. The material being processed travels through the bearing allowing the tool to explore the entire surface of the material along its entire length.
To cater for the huge range of material section sizes, two Inciser models are available and limited only by the internal working diameter of the machines.
| Material Section | Inciser 610(mm min to max) | Inciser 1500(mm min to max) |
| Pipe and tube OD | Up to 610 | Up to 1500 |
| Rectangular cross section in mm | Up to 300 x 400 | Up to 900 x 1200 |
| Length | Not limited | Not limited |
Tools
The Inciser is essentially an orientation device for any desired tool. Although it was originally developed to orientate plasma and/or gas cutting tools around the periphery of metal sections, it may just as easily mark with a marking tool, rout with a routing tool, shot blast, paint, assemble, carve, scan, measure, inspect, weld etc.
