Vertical Boom Weld Overlay Cladding Rigs

 

PFP Tech offer a range of boom style vertical weld overlay cladding rigs with twin-wire TIG welding source for use for steel pipe and fittings.

Standard models are the WB1200 and WB2500.

The WB1200 features a stroke of 1150mm in the vertical axis and 1050mm in the horizontal axis and is mounted on heavy duty castors to allow easy movement around the plant, between jobs and around workpieces.

The WB2500mm features a stroke of 2520mm in both the vertical and horizontal axes and is mounted to factory floor using rawl bolts.

 The control system for PFP Tech's boom-style weld overlay cladding rigs is built around Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 PLC Processing Unit and proprietary DeviceNet machine communication protocol.

Parametric software and Allen-Bradley PanelView touch screen HMI (human machine interface) allows the operator full control of all welding parameters, including:

  • Welding current
  • Arc Volts
  • Wire feed speed
  • Step size
  • Pipe or positioner rotation speed
  • Pipe or positioner position

These parameters can also be controlled via a convenient handheld pendant.
