EquiScan ESP Software

Creating and storing new programs couldn’t be easier on the EquiScan ESP. The user interface features an industrial computer running WindowsXP with touch screen LCD monitor and a retractable keyboard and mousepad. Machine status is clearly visible through large, easy-to-read information blocks and user selectable functions.

Programs take the form of simple Excel (.xls) spreadsheets and standard Windows clipboard functions are all available to allow cutting and pasting. A single command line can move the detector from its home position to within millimeters of the required position incorporating simultaneous movement though all 6 axes of control.

Even more powerful is the ability to use a desired endpoint position as the program command. As the system keeps track of the positions of all 6 axes at all times, the detector can be moved manually into the desired position and then that position used as the endpoint of a program’s travel. Programs can be given meaningful names and can be saved and retrieved from memory using normal Windows file commands.

Under the hoof and fetlock images don’t present any problems to the EquiScan ESP. An optional feature can allow the system to be linked to an intricate array of pneumatically operated pit doors which, at a simple command from the computer interface, can be remotely opened and closed to allow the detector to be placed inside the pit, facing upwards and completely enclosed, for under hoof imaging. A similar routine allows the camera to be partially lowered into the pit for fetlock shots. And that’s not all – these entire sequences have been incorporated into easy-to-select programs!

The handheld pendant allows the manual movement of all axes and also can be used to initiate image capture.
